Welcome to our new Programming Wiz: Tzolkin

Tzolkin will be handling a lot of behind-the-scenes maintenance and coding to help make the muck a nicer, more user-friendly place to visit. If there's a bug, or if you'd like to request a feature on the muck, let him or any other wizstaff know, and we'll definitely consider it. If it's a good idea, it's very likely to make the muck.

Log of his inauguration follows:

Server Move!

In preparation for my internship, I will be moving the server that hosts Thorn Valley and NIMHmuck.org on Wednesday, April 16 to my sister's home (yay for nice sisters!) and hosting it on her connection for the 3 months that I will be away on my internship. The server will be down from around 1 PM MDT, and won't be back up until it's back up--hopefully around 6-7 PM MDT. Update: The server was moved successfully.

Regular NIMHmuck server back up!

The normal NIMHmuck server is back up, now that the repairs to the server have been finished. If you, for any reason, need to access the old muck, you can still do so temporarily at muck.nimhmuck.org port 3737. Thanks for your patience!

Trouble connecting?

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to see this, but here goes: Thorn Valley's DNS is having issues, which is causing problems for people who want to connect. If muck.nimhmuck.org isn't working for you, try either thornvalley.dyndns.org or 67.161.219.243 instead.

Update (Nov 17): I've had Jeff make some changes to the DNS, so things should start working again normally for NIMHmuck. Note that Thorn Valley is still down however.

Update (Nov 23): The muck's been having some glitchiness for some unknown reason. I'm back from vacation so I should be able to keep a closer eye on things. Please let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary.

Fixed the forum

Didn't even realize posts weren't showing up on the forum... and I was wondering why people weren't posting there... n.n; It's fixed now, though.

NIMHmuck.org has moved!

NIMHmuck.org has moved to the new server. Please let me know if you see anything out of sorts.

Humans! Fire! Turmoil! Intrigue! (Global Plot Refresh)

Greetings players! It gives me great pleasure to finally announce our upcoming GP event that will be occurring on the 15th of June. As many of you are aware we have tossed back and forth many ideas to move our storyline along to new ideas, fed by players and wizards on the same level.

Humans Are Near:

There is a key introduction to this global plot involving humans. Humans are nearby in the valley. Now this distance isn't a simple walk nearby but rather a decent trek for those of rodent size. The humans are doing a controlled burn in the forest and this was relayed to the council via some scouts that had ran across the smell of burning wood and had spotted the fire and the humans. The news came to the council in secrecy as to not create a stir in the balance of the community. However there is a split in the council and some are for contact with the Humans and others are not supportive of going near the evil beasts.

Global Plot Request

I am formally requesting all those who are interested in suggesting
Global Plot ideas for muck to put in their ideas out to the entire
muck. What does this mean? Well first off I would love the active
participation in our players to work with the wizstaff to develop the
next set of Global Plots.

NIMHmuck back up!

NIMHmuck went down sometime on Friday, presumably due to network problems. Most people get a connection time out or no route to host error. I've been trying to contact Jeff but have not heard back from him yet.

Thanks for your patience while we get to the bottom of this.

UPDATE: Apr 7, 9pm: Jeff was away on vacation, but he is aware of the issue and is working to get things straightened out. He's hoping things will be back up tomorrow.

UPDATE: Apr 9, 11am: It's back up again. Be sure to give Jeff a thanks when you see him. Thanks, Jeff! :)

Headwiz Presence

Hey All,

As many of you are probably already muttering about, I have been a bit hard to find lately. This is mostly due to my new demands in real life with a new job and a new kid. However I am going to be making an attempt to make sure my presence is seen a lot more in the future. I will start off by ensuring that I am active in our website, ensuring that people are up-to-date on any administrative issues, as well as responding to questions in the forums. This website is a huge resource for us, almost as much as the muck itself. Secondly I will be also focusing on updates and housekeeping on the server itself. This includes eliminating old characters from our database, maintaining the version 5 configuration, as well as any player relations issues that needs headwiz attention. If you have any questions or concerns, remember you can always reach me via the game or via email at

Thanks,

Jeff
