Muck Rules

Every MUCK you might visit has a collection of rules and policies that help protect and ensure the rights of its players and staff. NIMHmuck is no exception, and any player who logs onto the MUCK is expected to read, agree, and abide by what is set down here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the staff members (wizards) -- and remember, these rules exist to protect you and enhance the quality of Role-Play!
- The rules of NIMHmuck are fixed, upheld, and ensured by the administrative staff (wizards). That is their responsibility, and word is final.
- It is the player's responsibility to read, agree, and abide by the rules of the MUCK.
- Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment is any activity that annoys, irritates, or threatens another player and is not stopped when asked to. This includes, but is not limited to, bothering players privately, logging on as other player's characters without their permission, and stealing another player's objects, programs, or rooms without probable cause.
- A player cannot force another player to Role-Play.
- Public MUCK role-play must be rated PG, with graphic violence limited to PG-13. Sexual Role-Play is not allowed, either publicly or privately. No exceptions.
- Accounts/characters may not be shared by multiple users. If it is discovered that another user besides the account owner is using an account, the following actions will occur:
- We will change the password on that account and email the new password to the email address we have on file for that user.
- We will ban the impersonator using the account by their IP address and lock any other accounts/characters that they use.
Essentially, abide by a cardinal rule: treat all other players and staff with respect. If these primary rules are broken, the wizards of the MUCK will:
- Send a warning via muck-mail or pages;
- Suspend the offending player, if the behavior isn't corrected;
- Ban (terminate access indefinitely) the offending player if the behavior still isn't corrected.
Remember that these stages of punishment are not set in stone; if the offense calls for an immediate ban (i.e. hacking into the server, harassing another player, etc.), the wizards will take appropriate action.
