Feature Character Policies

The feature characters of NIMHmuck are also the stars of the movie, "The Secret of NIMH." These characters are considered 'standards' of the MUCK, and the players of these characters are chosen by the wizards through an application process, found here.
Expectations
A feature character is understandably a large role to fill. The players who have feature characters are thus expected to take an active role in the MUCK. The roles of a feature character's player include helping to plan Tiny- Plots and stimulating quality Role-Play with their character. The player is also expected to abide not only by all the rules and policies of the MUCK, but the added Out-of-Character responsibilities listed below.
Limitations
An FC-player must have spent a minimum of three (3) months of active Role- Playing on NIMHmuck before applying to become an FC. After being approved through the application process, the player will be given the FC of their choice. The FC player is asked to be online and Role-Playing their FC a minimum of seven (7) hours per week, and if an extended absence is required, the player MUST contact a wizard and let them know how long the absence will be. If the FC goes idle for a minimum of 14 days, that FC essentially becomes 'free for the taking' to the rest of the MUCK's players, barring an excused absence.
Under certain circumstances, we will extend an offer to play a feature character to a player if we feel the need for a player for that character is great enough, however, that does not exempt them from the requirements set forth here to maintain this character.
Only one feature character per player, please.
Feature Character Application
Want to play one of our FCs? Alright! The application process is relatively simple. After fully reviewing the MUCK's FC policy, please fill out the application below and send it to a wizard.
- Tell us about yourself. How long have you been MUCKing? How long have you been a part of NIMH MUCK? Who are your characters?
- Which feature character are you applying for, and why? How might you further develop this character?
- If you have logs of some past Role-Plays, please give us a few excerpts as examples of your RP (with permission of the other players involved). If you can't do that, please set up a time for an RP observation with a wizard.
- And lastly, when would be a good MUCK time to have an interview with a MUCK wizard?
All of this might sound serious, but it isn't too much of a big deal. The wizards really are quite friendly, and they definitely want to see these Feature Characters played!
