Hello folks.
Recently I've been entertaining another tp idea.
The story with Enkidu and all of his issues needs to go on the operating table again. That's fine. But in the meantime here's an idea for an expedition to the old Rosebush Colony.
The character that will be organizing this is Hecate, and any who are interested and icly would be able to accompany are welcome to attend.
The premise of the tiny plot is that some time ago, Hecate, Steven, and Kieran ventured to the old Rosebush Colony because Hecate was looking for something she left behind. This was Persephone's journal, wich she found (maybe an rp idea for later.) Steven, an engineer was interested in any tools, equipment, or building supplies that the Thorn Valley colony could use. Also, any non parishable medical supplies would be of value. Many books still remain in the old colonial library as well. Important texts that I'm sure would be of much value. There wasn't enough of us (only 3 chars) to collect everything but what we could carry so to come back with more people and carts and such would be a good idea.
A little bit of backstory about that old rp. One of the things that happened was everyone eventually went down to the moseleums (Hecate wished to see her mother's tomb) and it was discovered that they moseleums are quite hot. This is the result of some sort of machine that was discovered to control a series of secret passageways. One thing that was discovered about this is that Persephone's tomb was a trigger for this, and was in fact emtpy. Inside was a previously unexplored tunnel. The creator of this construct is Enkidu.
Anyway, Hecate and Drusilla later on (icly recently) approached Justin with a few matters, one to do with Kieran who has run away from the colony. There was also the matter of somethign that attacked him, Drusilla was there and this is what she told Justin. And the final issue was Hecate wanted to put together an organized salvage expedition to the old Rosebush Colony to reaquire artifacts and supplies once thought lost. The rp concluded in Justin's office with his approval so now we are at the stage to begin. :3
The timeframe for this will be winterish and likely folks that will be acompanying will be guards, engineers, or anyone interested in adventuring/helping or what ever. Though the main premise of the rp is salvage there's nothing to say that anything else can't happen. As a matter of fact it's probably a safe bet that something unexpected probably will happen.
I plan on trying to get this tp idea started as soon as I can, wich will probably translate into next week about Wednesday or Thursday time. Also, if the rp has already started and you wish to join I'm sure that won't be a problem.
One last thing. I appreciate feed back, questions, or oppinions and what ever you may have. Thanks.
If I can, I'll join. Just so Cedric can RP with someone besides Kimberly and Zohar before I leave the muck. I've pretty much made my decision, but a promise is a promise. Besides, can't I change my mind? This may help to overthrow my current decision.
But don't get your hopes up. It's only a very remote possibility.
Yes, I would like it if you could spoof some NPC's for me. That would help take some work off of me should there not be much intersted in the idea. Though, I share your hopes that things will turn out otherwise.
Yes, I'd like it if Cedric can join the rp. You know, you can always change your mind.
Again, I'm open to suggestions. Remember, things can only get better if people offer their ideas.
What kind of items will we be salvaging? Maybe Cedric can recover some of the tools from the Toy Tinker's truck that were left behind. Non power tools, of course. Or does the colony have its own power now?
Tools would be one thing. Raw building materials is another. Books from the library, medical supplies, and any sort of artifacts that one could think up as long as it makes sense.
No, I don't think Thorn Valley has a source of electrical power. Though I do believe they use gas. Maybe one thing that could be salvaged would be the materilas and books required to build a steam powerplant?
Spoofed NPCs I'd be happy to provide. :)
As far as power...I don't think the colony really has any power to speak of. I thought that was the purpose behind the construction of the still-not-finished mill?
Steam might be useful down in the workshops, though, but at the same time, I don't think it'd be very practical because it'd require a lot of fuel to run. Not like Thorn Valley's in any danger of running out of wood, but the environmental monitoring people would probably start getting suspicious about spikes in emissions coming from the middle of a natural area.
As far as what I ment by power, I remember reading an environmental discription for something at the Thorn Valley colony that lead me to believe that they used some sort of gas or oil. That's what I was referring to.

Aye, I've been holding off on posting until I had some fully formed ideas, but half baked is as good as any I guess.
You might remember my post about an expedition to the city recently. As it has been worked out, the stalled RP that was going in that direction could likely be merged with this one, with those going to the city continuing on from the farm instead of returning with the rest. How this could happen, is that the reformers, a cult who believes that someday the Rats and Mice will be accepted by humans, and advocate (gradual) contact, would catch wind of the rosebush expedition, discussing amongst their ranks about their own proposed expedition, on which Tzolkin and his family were going as Tzolkin wants to go to the city to 'find himself'. After which they would tell Tzolkin, and the expeditions would join, with additional operatives (Kivan or Alex out of my chars to name a definate) going just to help with the salvage. The Reformers while not well known anymore, could potentially complicate or make things more interesting at the least.
I'm still waiting for my fur to grow in.
I actually like the sound of merging the rp's. I think it has the best chance of including the most players and also offer something for everyone. I think this idea with the Reformers would at the least be interesting.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. More suggestions or ideas are welcome so please let me know if anyone wants to pitch something on.
This rp has already begun, and logs for it can be found here: http://www.nimhmuck.org/node/180
If your character hasn't joined already, don't worry. People can always join as things progress.
This is a post on behalf of Ira's player, as the idea belongs to him.
During a recent rp in relation to this expedition, Ira suggested the inclusion of 3 new rat characters. They are usually field hands and are somewhat trouble makers and bullies. He said that a while back he did an rp involving these critters and they where placed under house arrest for causing mischief and being, well, bullisome. His idea was that they be included on the expedition as brute labor as part of their punishment.
These characters, named Druce, Mark, and Nick are of the sort that don't care for the ferral type much. As a matter of fact Druce's father is the one that can be heard in the movie stating "Send her away!" to Mrs. Brisby when she shows in the council chamber for the first time. These three are trouble makers for Ira and Lancelot, have been for years.
I like the sound of the idea.
Well, you already know I'd like to participate in this as much as possible. :)
Unfortunately, I don't think any of my characters can join in the expedition--though that doesn't mean you won't run into Kieran on the way there or once you reach the Rosebush. ;)
I'd be happy to spoof a couple of the Guards who are assigned as escort, assuming you'd need something like that done. (Here's hoping there are enough interested people that spoofing of NPCs can be kept to an absolute minimum!)
I'm looking forward to this! :)
