• If you haven't already, watch the Secret of NIMH. ;)
• Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien - Essential reading for the true NIMH fan. Some elements of the muck are based on ideas from the book.
• The Rats of Thorn Valley fanfic - At the inception of the current muck storyline, the plot and characters were loosely based off of this fanfic. Though we have since moved a fair ways away from the fanfic, it may help to understand some of the background of things on the muck.
• Redwall MUCK's Help files - While not everything applies to NIMHmuck, especially when it comes to commands, there are a number of good guides there under the Guides and Tutorials section. The IC Topics section is very relevant to NIMHmuck, in particular.
• The MUCK Manual - A very comprehensive guide to TinyMuck, of which ProtoMuck (on which NIMHmuck runs) is a distant descendent. Still, many of the commands and ideas are similar, if not the same, as ProtoMuck.
• Characters & Viewpoint by Orson Scott Card - while this is a book intended for writers, it is a great help for muckers as well, since nearly everything on a muck is character-driven. Find out what makes a good, memorable character.
